PROCEDURES

Gastroscopy

A gastroscopy is a procedure where a doctor investigates the upper part of your stomach (the upper gastrointestinal tract). The upper stomach consists of the oesophagus (gullet), stomach and duodenum. The operator uses an endoscope to look inside your stomach.

Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is a test whereby a doctor investigates your colon (also called the large intestine or large bowel) The colon is approximately one meter in length and can be examined by passing a thin, flexible, tube about as thick as the little finger through the anus and into the colon. The colonoscope shines a bright light into the colon and the image is captured on a video screen.
we use CO2 for insufflation to minimise discomfort after the procedure.

ERCP

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a procedure to diagnose and treat problems in the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. It combines X-ray and the use of an endoscope—a long, flexible, lighted tube. Your gastroenterologist guides the scope through your mouth and throat, then down the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine (duodenum). Your gastroenterologist provider can view the inside of these organs and check for problems.

Cholangioscopy

Cholangioscopy is an advanced endoscopic technique whereby a small-caliber endoscope is advanced through a larger endoscope into the bile duct or pancreatic duct for direct endoscopic visualization of the anatomy and potential pathology.

Endoscopic Ultrasound

An endoscopic ultrasound procedure examines the inside of your digestive tract. It can detect pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, as well as cancer that’s spread to other parts of your body. EUS can also detect inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), pancreatitis and other causes of abdominal pain.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound are performed in our rooms. Ultrasound images are captured in real time. They’re able to show the structure and movement of internal organs as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.

Ablation Techniques

HALO Ablation: The Halo procedure uses heat energy (radiofrequency ablation) combined with EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy). The heat from electrodes at the end of the tube (endoscope) used in the procedure destroys abnormal tissues in the esophagus. The heat is exact to the abnormal area and doesn’t damage healthy tissues.
